Antianxiety Drugs/Sedatives Drugs that supress anxiety and relax muscles.
Antiarrhythmics Drugs used to control irregularities of heartbeat.
Antibacterials/Antibiotics Drugs used to treat infections used to combat bacterial infection.
Anticoagulants and Thrombolytics prevent blood from clotting and help dissolve and disperse blood clots
Anticonvulsants prevent epileptic seizures
Antidepressants Three main groups of mood-lifting to include tricyclics, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
Antidiarrheals drugs used to relieve diarrhea
Antiemetics Drugs used to treat nausea
Antifungals Drugs used to treat fungal infections.
Antihistamines Drugs used primarily to counteract the effects of an allergic reaction.
Antihypertensives Drugs that lower blood pressure
Anti-Inflammatories Drugs used to reduce redness, heat, swelling and increased blood flow found in infections.
Antineoplastics Drugs used to treat Cancer
Antipsychotics Drugs used to treat symptoms of severe psychiatric disorders.
Antipyretics Drugs that reduce fever
Antivirals Drugs used to treat viral infections
Barbiturates sleeping drugs
Beta-Blockers reduces oxygen needs of the heart by reducing heartbeat rates.
Bronchodilators Drugs that open up bronchial tube within the lungs when tubes have been narrowed by muscles spasm.
Corticosteroids hormonal preparations used as anti-inflammatories in arthritis or asthma or as immunosuppressives.
Cough Suppressants medicine that may contain honey, glycerine, or menthol, soothes throat irritation.
Cytotoxics Drugs that kill or damage cells
Decongestants Drugs that reduce swelling of the mucous membranes that line the nose by constricting blood vessels.
Diuretics Drugs that increase the quantity of urine produced by the kidneys and passout out of the body, ridding the body of excess fluid.
Expectorant stimulates the flow of saliva and promotes coughing to eliminate phlegm.
Hormones Chemicals produced naturally by the endocrine glands.
Hypoglycemics drugs tha tlower level of glucose in blood
Immunosuppressives Drugs that prevent or reduce the body's normal reaction to invasion by disease.
Laxatives Dtrugs that increase the frequence and ease of bowel movements.
Muscle Relaxants Drugs that relieve muscle spasma
Sex Hormones (female) two groups responsible for development of female secondary sexual characteristics, One used to treat cancer of breast or prostate.
Sex Hormones (Male) Androgenic, development of male secondary sexual characteristics.
Sleeping Drugs Sedative effect in low doses and in higher dose induces sleep.
Tranquilizer drug that has a calming or sedative effect. According the the amount of drug given the drug may cross over to antianxiety drugs, or antipsychotics.
Vitamins Chemicals essential in small quantities for good health.
