Describe the movement of particles in solids, liquids, gasses, and plasma states
Term | Definition |
---|---|
State of Matter | the physical forms, which include solid, liquid, and gas |
Solid | the state of matter in which the volume and shape of a substance are fixed |
Gas | a form of matter that does not have definite volume or shape |
Melting Point | temperature at which a liquid vaporizes and changes to a gas |
Vaporization | process in which a liquid changes to a gas |
Boiling Point | the temperature at which a liquid vaporizes and changes to a gas |
Condensation | the change of state from a gas to a liquid |
Freezing Point | temperature at which a liquid changes into a soild |
Sumblization | the process in which a solid changes directly into a gas |
Phase-Changes Diagram | drawing that shows the relationships among temperature and changes |
Plasma | a state of a matter that forms when temperature are enough to completely remove electrons from the atoms to which they were bond |
