Describe the movement of particles in solids, liquids and gas.

| solid | The state of matter in which the volume and shape of a substance are fixed. |
| gas | A form of matter that does not have definite volume or shape. |
| melting point | Temperature at which a solid changes to a liquid. |
| vaporization | Process in which a liquid changes to a gas. |
| boiling point | The temperature at which a liquid vaporizes and changes into a gas. |
| condensation | The change of state from gas to liquid. |
| freezing point | temperature at which a liquid and changes into a solid. |
| sublimation | the process in which a solid changes directly into gas. |
| Phase- change diagram | drawing that shows the relationships among temperature and changes of state. |
| plasma | a state of matter that forms when temperatures are enough to completely remove electrons from the atoms to which they were bound. |
