Describe the difference between pure substance and mixtures
Term | Definition |

Pure Substance | A sample of matter, either a single element or a single compound, that has definite chemical and physical properites |
Compound | A substance made up of atoms of two or more different elements joined by chemical bonds |
Molecule | the smallest unit of a substance that keeps all of the physical and chemical properties of that substance |
Chemical Formula | a combination or chemical symbols and numbers to represent a substance |
Subscript | a small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element in the substance |
Mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
