Describe the difference between pure substances (e and c) and mixtures

| Pure substance | a sample of matter |
| Compund | a substance made up of atoms of two or more different elements |
| Molecule | smallest unit of a substance |
| Chemical formula | a combination of chemical symbols and numbers that represent a substance |
| Subscript | a small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element |
| mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
