Describe the difference between pure substances(e and c) and mixtures
| Term | Definition |

| pure substances | a sample of matter,either a single element a single element or single compound,that has definite chemical and physical properties |
| compound | a substance made up of atoms of two or more different elements joined by chemical bonds |
| molecule | the smallest unit of a substance that keeps all of the physical and chemical properties of that substance |
| chemical formula | a combination of chemical symbol and numbers to represent a substance |
| subscript | a small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell number of atoms of that element in the substance |
| mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
