Thermometer A device that measures how hot or cold something is, temperature in degrees Celcius
Graduated Cylinder Laboratory equipment used to measure the volume of a liquid.
Beaker A wide mouthed container used to pour chemicals
Triple Beam Balance Laboratory equipment used to measure mass
Meter Stick A device used to measure length in millimeters, centimeters, or meters
Magnifying Glass or Hand Lens A convex lens used to produce an enlarged image of an object.
Spring Scale A device used to measure either mass or force
Pipette A slender tube attached to a bulb, for transferring or measuring out small quantities of liquid.
Test Tube A thin glass tube closed at one end, used to hold small amounts of material for laboratory testing or experiments.
Petri Dish A shallow, circular, transparent dish with a flat lid, used for the culture of microorganisms.
Microscope An instrument used for viewing very small objects, such as mineral samples or animal or plant cells.
Telescope An instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer, containing an arrangement of lenses,by which rays of light are collected and focused and the resulting image magnified.
Tongs An instrument with two movable arms that are joined at one end, used for picking up and holding things.
Hot Plate A device used to heat materials in the laboratory
Pan Balance A device used to compare an object with an unknown mass to objects with known masses
