Story Elements Vocab

TermDefinition
Genre a kind, sort, or style of literature
Resolution how the conflict is resolved (the ending)
Character an imaginary figure represented in a work of fiction - the who
Setting when and where the story takes place
Narrative a story or the telling of the story
Fiction a made up story; not real
Plot a series of events which build on one another from beginning to end
Point of View what a character thinks or feels about something
Theme the message the author wants to deliver (a life lesson)
Conflict/Problem something that is a source of trouble, worry
