| Theory | A statement that attempts to explain why something is the way it is and happens the way it does. |
| Psychiatrist | A medical doctor who specializes in the treatment of psychology problems and who can prescribe meds. |
| Introspection | An examination of one's own thoughts and feelings. |
| Psychoanalysis | A school for psychology. |
| Biological Perspective | Psychological perspective that emphasize the influence of biology on behavior. |
| Constructs | Ideas that cannot be seen or measured directly. |
| Hypothesis | A prediction or assumption. |
| Survey | A research technique for acquiring data about attitudes or behaviors of a group of people. |
| Bias | A perdis positon to a certain point of view despite the facts. |
| Case Study | In-depth study of a single person or group reveal some universal principle. |
| Variables | Factors that are measures or controlled in a scientific study. |
| Control Group | An experiment the group that does not receive the treatment. |
| Placebo | Inert substance used in controlled experiments to test the effectiveness of another substance. |
