| Potential Energy | the stored energy that results from the position, condition, or shape of an object |
| Electrical Energy | related to the movement or flow of electrons which carry a charge |
| Nuclear Energy | related to the potential energy stored between the particles in the nucleus of an atom |
| Chemical Energy | related to the potential energy stored in the bonds between the atoms in a compound |
| Mechanical Energy | related to the movement of an object or its position in gravity; allows an object to apply a force to another object and make it move; the sum of PE and KE of an object |
| Thermal/Heat Energy | related to the motion of atoms or molecules in a substance |
