Zidovudine Retrovir (AZT, ZDV)- Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NRTI) [DOVE into the bone marrow = BMS, take WITH food due to nausea, purple toe nails, myopathy, comes IV to be giving during birth)
Emtricitabine Emtriva (FTC)- Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NRTI) [darkening palms and soles that is ok]
Delavirdine Rescriptor (DLV) - Non-Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NNRTI) [ least potent, easy resistance causing cross resistance]
Efavirenz Sustiva (EFV) - Non-Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NNRTI) [ false canabinoid test, vivid dreams, EMPTY STOMACH, 3A4 inducer and inhibitor, suicidality so not for mental health issues, avoid in 1st 8 weeks of pregnancy then ok)
Nevirapine Viramune (NVP) - Non-Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NNRTI) [not recommended in treatment naive]
Rilpivirine Edurant (RPV) - Non-Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NNRTI) [QT prolongation]
Etravirine Intelence (ETR) - Non-Nuceloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NNRTI) [inhibits 2c9, 2c19, induce 3a4)
Tenofivir Viread (TDF) - NucleoTIDE Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor [renal and hepatic - caution for both, osetoporosis, has lactic acidosis, can treat hep B... side effects from both nrti and nnrti]]
Raltegravir Isentress (RAL) - Integrase Inhibitor
Dolutegravir Tivicay (DTG) - Integrase Inhibitor
Elvitegravir Vitekta - Integrase Inhibitor
Indinavir Crixivan (IDV) - Protease Inhibitor [nephrolithiasis, empty stomach- only one, avoid in renal failure]
Lopinavir LPV + Ritonavir(RTV) = Kaletra (LPV/r) - Protease Inhibitor [solution has alcohol, has propylene glycol so not for newborns]
Nelfinavir Viracept (NPV) - Protease Inhibitor [ major GI issues, explosive diarrhea]
Ritonavir Norvir (RTV) - Protease Inhibitor [ 3a4 inhibitor, boosts the others, paresthesias]
Saquinavir Invirase (SQV) - Protease Inhibitor [has lactose so more GI upset]
Tipranavir Aptivus (TPV) - Protease Inhibitor [ has alcohol ("tipsy"), fatal hepatotoxicity, SULFA allergy issue, intracranial hemorrage]
Fosamprenavir Lexiva (FPV) - Protease Inhibitor [ SULFA allergy issue]
Atazanavir Reyataz (ATZ) - Protease Inhibitor [ requires acid for absorption, cardiac abnormalities, only PI without the lipid issues, never give with tenofovir (reduces effectiveness)]
Darunavir Prezista (DRV) - Protease Inhibitor [increases pravastatin, use fluvastatin instead, has SULFA allergy issue]
Combivir COMBO(NRTIx2): Zidovudine + Lamivudine
Trizivir COMBO(NRTIx3)+: Zidovudine + Lamivudine + Abacavir
Triumeg COMBO(NRTIx2+Integrase): Abacavir + Lamivudine + Dolutegravir
Epizicom COMBO(NRTIx2): Abacavir + Lamivudine
