compaction the process by which a sediment loses it's porosity due to the effects of loading.

solid has definate volume and shape.
liquid has definate volume but no definate shape because it takes the shape of it's container.
gas has no definate volume or shape.
evaporation the process when water changes into a gas.
condensation the cooling of water in the atmosphere changing gas to a liquid.
precipitation when the water droplets in the clouds get very heavy they fall to earth as rain,hail,sleet or snow.
ocean largest body of water on earth.
sun a big ball of fire and gas.
water cycle the process by which water moves through the earth and atmosphere.
volume the amount of space something takes up.
boyancy the ability to float.
relative density determines whether one substance will sink or float in another.
mass the amount of stuff in an object.
temperature the measurement of whether something is hot or cold.
