what are the pews? Bench-like seats used in church for the congregation
What is a diocese? A Catholic community in a geographical area that is separated by the pastoral leadership of the bishop.
What is a creed? Creeds are described as a profession of faith. They give us an oveview of what we believe.
Name two creeds that we use today Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed
What is understood by the "Trinity"? Belief that there is one God who is three Persons sharing one nature.
What do we understand by the 'Resurrection' of Jesus Jesus rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion.
Why is Mary so important for Catholics? She agreed to be the mother of the saviour and brought Jesus into the world.
Define the word 'Sacrament' Visible sign of God's grace
Name the seven Sacraments Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Marriage and Anointing of the Sick
What are the five parts of the Mass? Introductory Rite, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist, Communion Rite and Concluding Rite
List the parts of the Liturgy of the Word Old Testament reading, Responsorial Psalm, New testament reading, Gospel, Homily, Creed and General Intercessions.
Our College is called Marist College Eastwood. There are other Marist Colleges also. What are the five characteristics that are shared with Marist schools? Presence, Simplicity, Family Spirit, Love of Work and In the Way of Mary.
