Site plan

Terminology which relate to site plans for civil drawings

TermDefinition
Contour line Lines showing the variations in ground levels.
Building line Line that restricts the building area. No buildings may cross this line.
Boundary line The line showing the outskirts of the property.
Corner height The height above sea level in that specific corner.
Stand number The number of the stand.
Septic tank Storage tank, storing solid sewerage temporarily.
RWDP Rain water down pipe, also known as the gutter.
Inspection eye A cap on the sewerage pipe making inspection into the pipe possible
Rodding eye A metal grate over a hole which allows metal rods to clear blockages in pipes.
Man hole A sewerage hole big enough for a man to fit into usually located outside of the property.
Area Length times breadth
Perimeter All sides added together
North point Indicates true north.
Red Everything new on a site plan is represented by this colour
Brown Sewerage is represented by this colour
