cottonwoods A type of tree that grows in the U.S. and has seeds that look like they are covered with cotton
griddle A flat surface or pan on which food is cooked
woodsman A man who works in and knows many things about the forest
telescope A device shaped like a long tube that you look through in order to see things that are far away
blizzard A severe snowstorm that goes on for a long time
cradle A bed for a baby that is usually designed to rock back and forth when pushed gently
leveled To knock someone or something down to the ground
