Physical Science - Pure substance, Mixture & Heterogeneous, Homogeneous

What is a pure substance? A pure substance is when there are multiple atoms combined that are only one type of atom.
What is a mixture? A mixture is when there are multiple atoms combined that are made of multiple types of atoms.
How can you tell the difference between a pure substance and a mixture? A pure substance has one type of atom while a mixture has multiple types of atoms.
What does Heterogeneous mean? Heterogeneous means that the molecules are not evenly distributed inside the object.
What does Homogeneous mean? Homogeneous is when the molecules inside a substance are evenly distributed.
How can you tell the difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous? Heterogeneous and homogeneous are classified by whether or not the molecules in a substance is evenly distributed.
