TermDefinition
constant the parts (variables) of the experiment that stay the same
qualitative an observation based on how an object looks, feels, tastes, sounds, or smells
independent variable the part of the experiment you purposely choose to change
hypothesis a testable prediction based on available information
dependent variable response to the independent variable
quantitative an observation that uses measurement and includes a number
repeated trials doing an experiment over many times to make sure the result is valid
inference a conclusion based on observation and prior knowledge (its happened)
prediction an educated guess about what will happene
