| homogeneous | a mixture where the particles are spread out evenly |
| heterougeneous | a mixture where the particles are not spread out evenly |
| colloid | a solution that has particles that remain evenly distributed throughout the solution. |
| solution | a liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent). |
| suspension | A mixture in which small particles of a substance are dispersed throughout a gas or liquid. |
| tyndall effect | The Tyndall effect, also known as Tyndall scattering, is light scattering by particles in a colloid or particles in a fine suspension. |
