TermDefinition
Choradate Phlyum members with a notochord nerve chord and slits in their throat area at some point.
Notochord A flexible rod that supports the chordate's back.
Vertebrae The small bones that make up the back bone
Endotherm An animal whose body controls and regulates its temp by conrolling the internal heat it produces.
Ectotherm An animal whose body does not produce much internal heat.
Fish An organism that lives in the sea.
Cartilage A flexible tissue.
Amphibion An endothermic invertebrate that spends most life in land.
Swim bladder An internal organ filled with gas that helps stabilize a fish in water.
Tadpole Young frog.
Vertricle A lower chamber of the heart that pumps blood out to the lungs and body.
Reptile Lays eggs has scaly skin, its an endotherm vertebrate
Habitat Place where an organism meets its needs to survive.
Kidney Removes waste and urine away from the blood.
Amniotic egg Filled with Membranes which keep the organism moist.
Bird Has feathers, a four chambered heart, and lays eggs.
Crop An internal sac where a bird's extra food is stored.
Gizzard Grinds food down for a bird.
Mammal Has a four chambered heart, produces milk from mother and is covered in hair or fur.
Marsupial An animal that grows up in a pouch that their mother produces.
Monotreme A mammal that lays eggs
Mammary gland Produces milk in females.
Placental Mammal Devolopes in mother.
Gestation period The length between birth and and fertilization of a mammal.
