| extra- | beyond / extraterrestrial - a creature living beyond Earth / extraordinary - beyond the ordinary |
| hyper- | too much / hyperactive child - a child that is too active |
| kilo- | thousand / kilowatt - 1000 watts / kilogram - 1000 grams |
| mal- | bad / malicious - having bad intentions / malformed - badly formed |
| micro- | small or tiny / microscope - a tool that is used to view tiny things / microorganism - a tiny living thing |
| multi- | many or much / multiple - many, more than one / multicolored - many colors |
| omni- | all / omniscient - knowing all / omnipresent - able to be everywhere at once omnidirectional - able to go in all directions |
| pre- | before / preface - comes before the rest of a book / pregame warm-up - comes before the game pretest - before the test |
