| research validity | how well does study control extraneous factors? The degree to which the results of study can be directly attributed to the independent variable only. Internal & external validity; generalizability of findings |
| content validity | how well all parts or items of instrument represent the aim/intention of the instrument; are there any parts that should be excluded from the instrument due to irrelevance to construct being tested. |
