Changing Matter

| States of Matter | solid, liquid, gas |
| freezing point | temperature at which a liquid freezes and goes from a liquid to a solid. Water freezes at 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C. |
| boiling point | temperature at which a liquid boils to become a gas. Water boils at 212 degrees F or 100 degrees C. |
| melting point | temperature at which a solid becomes a liquid. Ice melts at 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C |
| physical change | a change in matters position, size, shape, volume or state of matter. |
| chemical change | occurs when one matter changes into another completely different kind of matter with different properties. |
