BIOGRAPHY a story about someone's life written by an author
FACT can be measured, observed, verified by an expert
GENRE a type of literature
HISTORICAL FICTION a story that is set in the past, but it is fiction
INFERENCE a decision based on text evidence and your knowledge
NON-FICTION informational text that is true
OPINION a thought or feeling, prediction, contains the word "should" or "ought"
SUMMARY tells the main points of the story from beginning, middle, and end (BME)
TEXT FEATURES part of non-fiction stories that have been designed to help you locate and learn information
THEME the overall message of the story (life lesson)
