Define prefrontal cortex -it is a region of the brain that is important for sizing up risk and thinking ahead
Define limbic system -it is a brain system that plays a central role in emotional response
Define neurologist -it is someone who studies the brain
Define pediatric neurologist - a doctor who studies the nervous system of children

Define frontal lobes -a region of the brain behind the forehead
Define myelin or "white matter" -a material that coats the outside of nerve cells
Define neural insulation -another way of saying myelin

Define synapse -a small space between axons and dendrites where neurons exchange information
Define myelination -the process in which axons become wrapped in a fatty myelin sheath
Define synaptic pruning -cutting back on the number of synapses
Define brain pathways -bundles of elongated, myelin-insulated neurons that collectively connect different regions of the brain
Define reckless -risky or dangerous
Define localization -one specific part controls aspects of brain activity
Define regenerate -to grow back
Define solidifies -to make solid -to make come together
