Types of Evidence - Chapter 2

| TESTIMONIAL EVIDENCE | Statement or testimony made under oath |
| PHYSICAL EVIDENCE | Any physical object that is relevant to the crime scene |
| INDIRECT EVIDENCE | Evidence providing only a basis for inference of the disputed fact |
| CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE | Evidence based on circumstantial knowledge or observation |
| INDIVIDUAL EVIDENCE | Can be indentified through a single person or a single source |
| CLASS EVIDENCE | Common to a group of objects or persons |
| KNOWN SAMPLE | Material that comes from a known source |
| UNKNOWN SAMPLE | Material that has been collected from a known location but is the unknown origin |
