Simple Machines

Study stack for simple machines

What is force? A force is a push or pull
What is gravity? Gravity is the force that pulls all objects toward the center of the earth
What is motion? Motion is a change in position.
What is inertia? An object will tend to continue what it is already doing
What is friction? Friction is the force that resists the movement of objects against each other.
What is effort? The force applied to a simple machine to cause work.
What are the types of simple machines? Simple machines include wedges, incline planes, wheel and axle, pulley, and a screw.
What are examples of levers? A branch, wheelbarrow, fulcrum, broom, and fishing pole are examples of levers.
What are examples of two lever machines. Scissors, tweezers, and pliers are examples of two lever machines.
