Electron Dot Diagram A diagram of an atom in which the dots are valence electrons
Ion An atom that has a net charge of positive or negative
Anion An ion with a negative charge
Chemical Bond The force that holds atoms or ions
Ionic Bond The force that holds cations and anions together
Chemical Formula A notion that shows what elements a compound and what atoms or ions the element contains
Crystals Particles in a lattice structure
Molecule A neutral group of atoms that are joined by one or more covalent bonds
Covalent Bond Chemical bond in which where two atoms share valence electrons
Polar Covalent bond opposite bond
Polyatomic Ion A contently bonded group of atoms that act as a unit
Metallic Bond The attraction between a metal cation and shared the electrons around it
Alloy A mixture of 2 or more elements
Cation Positive ion
