Chapter 4 Vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Force | The cause of acceleration, for change in an objects velocity. Or Push or Pull |
| Fulcrum | The point at which a lever is turned. |
| Input arm/distance | The distance between the input force and the fulcrum. |
| Input force | The amount of force that you put into another object. |
| Lever | A rigid bar on a pivot point (fulcrum), used to help move a heavy or firmly fixed load with one end when pressure is applied to the other |
| Machine | An object using or applying mechanical power performing a specific task. |
| Mechanical Advantage | A number that describes how much easier a job is performed. |
| Output Force | Is the force that is exerted from the input force to create motion of a resisting object. |
| Output Arm/Distance | The distances from the output force to the fulcrum |
| Simple Machines | Lever, pulley, wheel and axle, incline plane, wedge, and screw. |
