Relate three properties of sound to everyday experiences.

TermDefinition
sound waves that transmit disturbances produced by vibrating objects.
vibrations rapid, back- and - fourth movements of particles.
pitch a measure of how high or low a sound is perceived to be, depending on the frequency of the sound wave.
frequency the # of waves produced in a given amount of time.
wavelength the distance from any point on a wave to an identical point on the next wave.
cochlea a spiraled, hollow chamber of bone within the ear.
