| Electric current: | when electric charges flow through certain materials |
| Electron | a tiny particle that moves around the nucleus of an atom. |
| Magnetic Poles | the place on a magnet where the magnetism is the strongest. |
| Energy | ability of something to do work |
| Attracts | objects with unlike charges will come together or pull toward each other |
| Magnet | material that pulls or attracts metal |
| Electromagnet | a temporary magnet made when electric current flows through a wire wrapped along an iron or steel core (can be a nail). |
| Repel | objects with like charges will push apart |
| Circuit | a path along which an electric current flows |
| Magnetic Field | the space around a magnet where the magnetic force acts. • |
