| Term | Definition |

| Physical Properties | Any change that alters form or matter, but does not make any substance in the matter into a different one. |
| Accuracy | The quality of being correct or precise. |
| Precision | The quality of being exact and accurate. |
| Matter | Physical substance which occupies space and possesses rest mass. |
| Mass | A coherent, typically large body of matter with no definite shape. |
| Weight | The heaviness of an object. |
| Newton | A unit of measurement. |
| Liquid | Having a consistency that of water or oil. |
| Graduated Cylinder | A piece of laboratory equipment used to measure a volume of a liquid. |
| Triple Beam Balance | A typical mechanical balance which has a beam supported by a fulcrum; It can measure the weight of an object. |
| Calibration | The action or process of calibrating an instrument or experimental readings. |
| Meniscus | The curved upper surface of a liquid inside of a tube. |
| Unit | A person or thing that can form an individual component of a larger and more complex whole. |
| Volume | The amount of space that an object or substance occupies. |
| International System of Measurement | International decimal systems of weight and measures derived from and extending the metric system of units; Abbreviated SI. |
