| scowled | expression of anger or displeasure by drawing eyebrows in the forehead |
| winced | to make an involuntary movement away from something because of pain or fear |
| asset | a useful or valuable thing, person, or quality |
| quivering | tremble or shake with a slight rapid motion |
| gingerly | in a careful or cautious manner |
