genre is an event of communication, aimed at achieving communicative purposes and serves as a means of accomplishing such purposes
formal style the absence of conversational features and the use of appropriate academic vocabulory
caution writing the avoidance of too definite statements or conclusions
logical connectors linking words and phrases which establish the logical relationship between ideas within a sentence
summary a shortened version of a text aimed at giving the most important information of the text
review an article that critically examines a new book or any other piece of writing
abstract a short account of a research paper placed before it
