Physical Changes

| Physical Properties | A characteristic of a substance can be observed without changing the identity of the substance. |
| Physical change | A change in a substance that does not change the substance into a different one. |
| Melting point | The temperature at which a substance change from it's solid state to it's liquid state through melting. |
| Boiling point | The temperature at which a substance changes from it's liquid state to it's solid state through boiling. |
| Freezing point | The temperature at which a substance changes from it's liquid to it's solid state through freezing |
| Sublimation | The process by which a substance changes directly from it's solid state to it's gas state without becoming a liquid first. |
| Condesation | The process by which a gas becomes a liquid |
| Evaporation | A process by which a substance changes from it's liquid state to it's gas state by random particles movement. Evaporation usually occurs at the surface of a liquid over a wide range of temperatures. |
