orientation | introductory session:a meeting or sense of events at which introductory information or trianing is provided to somebody embarking on something new such as a course of study. |
OSHA | the division of the department of labor that sets and enforces occupational health and safety rules. |
Workers Compensation | form of insurance providing wage replacement and medical benefits to employees injured in the course of employment in exchange for mandatory relinquishment of the employee's right to sue his or her emplyer for the tort negligence. |
W-4 Form | Completed by an employee to indicate his or her tax situation to the employer, tells the employer the correct amount of tax to withold from an emplyee's paycheck. |
INS -Form I-9 | used by an employer to verify an employee's identity and to establish that the worker is eligible to accept employment in the U.S. |
Beneficiary | legal recipent of money:somebody entitled to money or property by a will, trust, or insurance policy. |
pension | retirement pay :a fixed amount of money paid reguraly to somebody during retirement by the government , a former employer, or an insurance company. |
mission statement | a mission statement is a breif description of a company's fundamental purpose. it answers the question. "Why do we exist?" |
mission statemnet | And also the mission statement articulates the company's purpose both for those in the organization and for the public. |
Vision Statement | a vision statement is sometimes called a picture of your company in the future but it's so much more than that. your vison statment is your inspiration, the framework for all your straegic planing |
sick leave | paid absence from work allowed an employee because of sickness. |
Procedure manuel | provides instrusctions and direcetions for the day to day operation of a business venture. |
perfromance appraisal | a manager examines and evaluates an employer work behavior bey comparing it with present standards. |
employee appraisal | an evaluation as an employee |
termination | The final step in the progressive employee discipline process where he or her employment with the employer is permanetly served.(Bringing to an end.) |
due process | fair treatment through the normal judicial system, especially as a citizen's entitlement. |
mediator | a person who attempts to make people involved in a conflict come to an agreement; a go-between. |
exit interview | An exit interview is a survey conducted with an individual who is separating from an organization or relationship. |
promotion | the action of raising someone to a higher position or rank or the fact of being so raised |
transfer | move from one place to another |
discharge | telling someone officially that they can or must leave. |
recruitment | the process of finding and hiring the best qualified candidate for a job opening in a timely and cost effective manner. |
