TermDefinition
Pulse (noun) A rhythmical throbbing of the arteries as blood is propelled through them. After his run, Daniel checked his pulse.
Repulse (Verb) Drive back an attack or attacking enemy by force. Jason verbally asked for the definition of the word “repulse.”
Depend (Verb) Rely on something or others for your own personal needs. Justin likes to depend on others rather than support himself.
Expend (verb) Spend or use up a resource. Paul doesn't like to expend a lot of money on his tight budget.
Portal (noun) A large doorway. Jake entered the portal on his high scale video game.
Airport (noun) A place full of buildings and runways where people can access planes. Mike was late for his flight so he sprinted across the airport
Rupture (Verb) To break something.As Nick prepared for the huge jump on his dirt bike, he was afraid he might rupture an organ or break a bone.
Disrupt (verb) to interrupt an event. Chris was afraid to disrupt to children playing baseball.
Describe (verb) TO verbally account In detail. Jayden began to describe the events that occurred after the fight.
Inscribe (verb) to write about something in detail. Jim skimmed the book for the word “inscribe.”
Specific (Adjective) clearly defined. Amy was very specific and detailed in her work
Respect (noun) having admiration for something. John has a lot of respect for professional athletes.
Tactical (Adjective) Careful actions of secrecy to gain a military end. Terry is very tactical in his moves of chess
Attachment (noun) the act of being drawn close to something. David feels a lot of attachment towards his sisters.
