Matter anything that mass & take up space
Physical properties any change that alters form or appearance of matter. Does not make substance of the matter
Chemical properties change in matter, produces one or more NEWS substance
Weight pull on an object
Mass matter in an object (does not change)
Qualitative made by gathering information that can be recording using descriptive language
Quanitative made by gathering information that can be recorded as a number with a measurement unit.
Inference not a fact, but an interpretation of what the direct observation mean
Scientific Law describes what scientists expect to happen every time under a particular set of condition
constant part of an experiment that is held in the same condition for control & experimental
variable part of the experiment that changes
manipulated variable a factor in a controlled experiment that is intentionally changed by the experiment
scientific therory a well tested explanation for a wide range of observation or experimental results
inquire to ask for information
responding variable a resulting factor in a controlled experiment that is observed and measured to see if it changes due to the manipulation of another variable
experiment a course of an action completed in ordered to test a hypothesis
control a standard to which all other levels are compared in scientific experiment
