Force and Motion A

QuestionAnswer
What is force? a push or a pull or a twisting action on an object.
What is a newton? A unit of measure of force required to accelerate 1 kilogram of mass at 1 meter per second.
What is energy? The ability to do work or cause change.
What is a scale? Equipment to measure mass.
What is work? Force exerted on an object to make it move forward.
What is friction? The force that one surface exerts on another when the two surfaces rub against each other.
What is gravity? The force that pulls objects towards each other. The force of attraction between all masses in the universe.
What is inertia? The tendency for and object to resit any change in its motion. The tendency for and object to stay at rest or to stay in motion.
