| Qulative | Made by gathering information that can be recorded using descriptive language |
| Quanitave | Made by gathering information that can be recorded as a number with a measurement unit |
| Inferance | Not a fact, but an interpretation of what the direct observations mean |
| law | Describes what scientists expect to happen every time under a particular set of conditions |
| Constant | Part of an experiment that is held in the same condition for control and experiment |
| Varible | Part of the experiment that changes |
| Independent Varible | A factor in a controlled experiment that is intentionally changed by the experimenter |
| Scientific Theroy | A well tested explanation for a wide range of observations or experimental results |

| Responding Varible | A resulting factor in a controlled experiment that is observed and measured to see if it changes due to the manipulation of another variable |
| Experiment | A course of action completed in order to test a hypothesis |
| Control | A standard to which all other levels are compared in a scientific experiment |
