Qualitative made by gathering information that can be recorded as a descriptive language
Quantitative made by gathering information that can be recorded as a number with a measurement unit
Inference not a fact but an interpretation of what the direct observations mean

Independent Varible a factor in a controlled experiment that is intentionally changed by the experimenter
Theory a well tested explanation for a wide range of observations or experimental results

Responding Variabe a resulting factor in a controlled experiment that is observed and measured to see if it changes due to the manipulation of another variable
Experiment a course of action completed in order to test a hypothesis
Control a standard to which all other levels are compared in a scientific experiment
Matter something that has mass and takes up space
Weight pull of gravity on an object.
Mass a measurement of the amount of matter in an object
