TermDefinition
Chemical Formula A shorthand way to use chemical symbols represents a substance.
Chemical Equation Uses symbols to show the relationship between the reactants and the products.
Subacript Small number to the right of the element tat shows how many atoms there are of th element.
Coefficient The large number that multipies atoms of the element.
Reactant A substance or moleccule that starts a chemical reaction.
Product The substance that forms as a result of a chemical reaction.
chemiacl Reaction When atoms of element break apart and rearrange to become new substance.
Synthesis Reaction magnesium combines with oxygen to make magnesium oxide. When two or more substances combine to create one new compouond.
Decomposition Reaction A reaction where a single compound breaks down to form 2 simpler substances.
