What is Work? is when a force causes and object to move in the direction of the force.
What is joule? Joule is the unit used to express work.
What is a watt? The unit used to express power.
What is power? Power is the rate at which work is done.
Define Machine A machine is a device that helps make work easier by changing the size or direction of a force.
Work input the work you do on a machine.
Work output the work done by the machine
lever a simple machine consisting of a bar that pivots on a fixed point ( fulcrum ).
inclined plane a simple machine that is a straight slated surface.
wedge is a double sided inclined plane that moves
pulley is a simple machine consisting of a grooved wheel that holds a rope or a cable
compound machine made of two or more simple machines
mechanical efficiency is a comparison of a machine's work output with the work input
mechanical advantage tells you how many times the machine multiplies force
