Describe the difference between pure substances and substances

TermDefinition
Pure Substance a sample of matter ,either a single element or a single compound, that has definite chemical and physical properties
Compound a machine made up of two or more different elements joined by chemical bonds.
Molecules the smallest unit of a substances that keeps all of the properties
Chemical Formula a combination of chemical symbols and numbers to represent a substance
Subscript a small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element in the substance
Mixture a substance made by combining two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs.
