| Behavior | Way of acting. |
| DNA | Chemical molecules in chromosomes that control cell activity and determine hereditary traits. |
| Learned behaviors | Behaviors that are taught or result from experience. |
| Dominant Genes | A gene for which the trait always appears. |
| Allele | One of several different forms of a specific gene. |
| Chromosome | A rod shaped structure in the nucleus of a cell that contains DNA. |
| Gene Site | The site where the gene is positioned on the chromosome. |
| Heredity | The passing of traits from one generation to the next. |
| Genotype | The gene pair for a given trait. |
| Inherited Traits | Are those traits that are passed from parent to offspring through genes. |
| Genetics | The study of heredity. |
| Phenotype | A description of a trait. |
| Recessive Gene | A gene for which the trait only appears when the dominant gene is not present. |
