| Melting Point | tempature at which a solid changes to a liquid. |
| Vaporization | process in which a liquid changes to a gas. |
| Boiling Point | tempature at which a liquid vaporizes and changes to a gas. |
| Freezing Point | tempature at which a liquid changes into a solid. |
| Sublimation | the process in which a solid changes directly into a gas. |
| Phase-change diagram | drawing that shows the relationships among tempature and changes of state. |
| Plasma | a state of matter that forms when tempature are high enough to completely remove electrons from the atoms to which they were bound. |
