Describe the movement of particles in solids, liquids, gases and plasma states.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| State of Matter | The physical forms of matter, which include solid, liquid, and gas. |
| Solid | The state of matter in which the volume and shape of a substance are fixed. |
| Liquid | The state of matter that has a definite volume but not a definite shape. |
| Gas | A form of matter that does not have a definite volume or shape. |
| Melting Point | Temperature at which a liquid changes to a gas. |
| Vaporization | Process in which a liquid changes to a gas. |
| Boiling Point | Temperature at which a liquid changes into a solid. |
| Condensation | The change of state from a gas to a liquid. |
| Freezing Point | Temperature at which a liquid changes into a solid. |
| Sublimation | The process in which a solid changes directly into a gas. |
| Phase-Change Diagram | Drawing that shows the relationships among temperature and changes of state. |
| Plasma | A state of matter that forms when temperature are high enough t completely remove electrons from the atoms to which they were bound. |
