Describe the difference between pure substances and mixtures.
Term | Definition |

Pure Substance | a sample of matter, either a single element or compound, that has define properties |
Compound | A substance made up of atoms of two or more elements |
Molecule | The smallest unit of a substance that still keep the properties of that substance |
Chemical Formula | A combination of chemical symbols and numbers to represent a substance |
Subscript | A small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element in the substance |
Mixture | A combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
