Distinguish between atoms & Molecules

Atom The smallest unit of an element that maintains the properties of that element
Element a substance that cannot be separated or broken down into simper substances by chemical means
Nucleus an atoms central region which is made up of protons and neutron
Proton a subatomic particle that has a positive charge & that is found in the nucleus of an atom
Neutron a subatomic particle that has no charge and is found in the nucleus of an atom
Electron a subatomic particle that has a negative charge
Atomic # the # of protons in the nucleus of an atom
Neutral Having no overall change
Atomic Mass the mass of an atom expressed in atomic mass units
Chemical Symbol 1 or 2 letter code that represents an element
