Describe the difference between pure substances (elements and compounds)and mix.

| Pure Substances | a simple of matter either a single element or a single compound that has definite chemical physical properties. |
| Compound | a substance made up of atoms of two or more different elements jointed by chemical bonds. |
| Molecule | the smallest unit of a substance that keeps all of the physical and chemical properties of the substance |
| Chemical Formula | a combination of chemical and numbers to represent a substance |
| Subscript | a small number written the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element in the substance |
| Mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
