Describe the movement of particles in solids, liquids, gases, & plasma states.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| State Of Matter | the physical forms of matter which include solid, liquid, and gas. |
| Solid | the state of matter in which the volume & shape of a substance are fixed. |
| Liquid | a type of biochemical that doesnt dissolve in water; fats & steroids are liquids. |
| Gas | a form of matter that doesnt have a definite volume/ shape. |
| Melting Point | temp. at which a solid changes to a liquid. |
| Vaporization | process in which a liquid changes to a gas. |
| Boiling Point | temp. at which a liquid vaporizes & changes to a gas. |
| Condensation | the change of state from a gas to a liquid. |
| Freezing Point | temp. at which a liquid changes into a solid. |
| Sublimation | the process in which a solid changes directly into a gas. |
| Phase | change diagram. |
| Plasma | a state of matter that forms when temp. are high enough to completely remove electrons from the atoms to which they were bound. |
